PROJECT PROCEDURE

Our company procedure for projects are as follows:
  • The conceptual design and associated feasibility studies are carried out by the partners, who attend all design meetings.
  • Tenders are called for with a full set of tender drawings, a quality specification and a full Bill of Quantities. Our drawings are produced on CAD which allows us to cost, change and optimize all drawings to ensure that the most cost effective layout is produced prior to issuing any drawing for construction.
  • Our fully co-ordinate tender drawings are used for construction purposes which saves approximately 3% on the tender price. We do not allow the sub-contractor to alter our drawings as we take full responsibility for each project and therefore cannot allow our design details to be deviated from.
  • We monitor the progress and quality of the installation during the contract period and attend all necessary site meetings.
  • We employ an experienced commissioning and testing Engineer who checks and tests all plant fully prior to acceptance of the installation.
  • During the first twelve-month, free service and guarantee period, the service is monitored by
    means of service reports submitted via the sub-contractor.
  • At the end of the guarantee period, the installation is again checked to ensure that it is still in sound working order, competitive service quotations are obtained and a service contract is recommended.
  • We also quote our clients a fee for the continued monitoring of the plant maintenance, if required by the client.
  • We also specialize in municipality services-, the preparation of Business plans for MIG, DME and DBSA including the project management of the said systems including NERSA applications for yearly tariff and fee structure.
  • Complete – municipality outlet systems.
 
The practice has at it’s disposal computer aided draughting facilities. Software programmes have been developed to optimize electrical networks, distribution systems, thermal characteristic analysis of buildings, air- conditioning energy analysis etc.
Programs have furthermore been developed in house for example lighting calculations, smoke control etc.
